Credian was founded

Credian was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic which had a profound impact on financial markets. The vision was to capitalize on the opportunities in credit markets and future market dislocations.

2021

Launch of first fund

The first investment fund, Credian Nordic Opportunities, was launched in April of 2021 and was seeded by the Founding Partners led by Erik Selin. The fund also received investments from several prominent Swedish institutions.

2022

Navigating challenging markets

Amid the toughest year since the Great Financial Crisis—marked by the Russia-Ukraine war, surging inflation, and rising interest rates—most major asset classes saw negative returns. Despite this, Credian delivered positive net returns.

2023

Increased framework to SEK 3 bn

Credian hit its soft close limit but raised the cap to seize market opportunities and accommodate more capital from existing and new investors.

2024

Scaling and evolving

Building on the success of the first fund, Credian is strengthening its operational and regulatory platform to support growth in team, assets, and product offerings.

2025

Onward and upward!

We will continue to enhance performance and returns through active management, focusing on Nordic credit investments to capture market inefficiencies while maintaining diligent risk management.

Johannes Johnsson

CEO and Managing Partner

Johannes brings over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, having held key leadership positions in institutional sales and research at top Nordic investment banks. Most recently, he led the brokerage and research departments at Arctic Securities in Sweden.

Per Djerf

Managing Partner

Per is the former CEO of Peak Alternative Investments with over 12 years of experience as a portfolio manager and analyst, specializing in credit and cross-asset strategies, special situations, and event-driven investing.

Martin Nossman

Founding Partner and Chairman of the Board

Martin is the CEO of publicly traded Norion Bank. He has held several directorial positions within Handelsbanken Capital Markets.

Erik Selin

Founding Partner

Erik is one of Swedens most successful investors and CEO of Balder, the largest listed Swedish real estate company.

Erika Af Sandeberg

Board Member

Erika works at Advisense and is specialized in financial regulation, governance and risk management for financial institutions.
